A funeral is planned for Saturday, 30 June 2018 at 1100 hrs (11:00 am). Rick and his family will be attending.

We are honored to have been asked to attend the service for Charles A. Fields, Jr., Chief Warrant Officer, US Marine Corps, who served as a Drill Instructor for 3 years, a tour of duty in Vietnam during which he received a Navy Commendation Medal. He then attended Warrant Officer School and then worked for the Inspector General of the Marine Corps until his retirement in 1979.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1300 hrs (1:00 pm), Friday, 15 June 2018 at the Nautilus Museum and Memorial. We will stand a Flag Line as the Veterans arrive at the Museum.

Sadly we have been called to Stand in Honor for Walter D. Greene Jr  CPL US Marine Corps, Trooper First Class CT State Police.
CPL Greene served as a Rifleman/ Scout Sniper
Significant Duty Stations include The 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, FMF  Camp Lejeune NC.
Significant Awards include Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Commanding Officers Meritorious Mast, Certificate of Commendation (x2) Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/ 2 Stars, Military Excellence Award, Rifle Expert Marksmanship Badge, Pistol Marksmanship Badge.
During Greene’s tenure with the CT State Police he was assigned to the CSP K9 unit and was deployed to the World Trade Center following the attacks on 09/11/2001 and later was assigned to the Traffic Services unit as a Motor Unit Trooper and Instructor. TFC Greene succumbed to illness related to his assignment at the World Trade Center.
We will stand a flag line for Funeral Services at Sherwood Island State Park.
SC Mac McArthur will be RCIC and ASC Skip Petras will be the liason with the State Police. Flags and Water will be on site.
** PRIMARY STAGING ** 0900 hrs will be at the Commuter Lot off of Exit 18 Interstate 95s.  At the end of the Exit 18 ramp, turn right and the commuter lot will be on the right approx 1/2 – 3/4 mi from the ramp.  Members coming from the south will take a left at the I 95n Exit 18 ramp. We will meet at the commuter lot and proceed to our designated parking area on the State Park Grounds at approx 0920 hrs.  Please make appropriate time for traffic on I 95.
**FUNERAL STAGING **  Sherwood Island State Park . We have been assigned parking in the same parking area as visiting Law Enforcement Agencies. It is important to arrive at the Primary Staging area as promptly as possible.
Funeral Services are expected to start at 1100 hrs.
Members are advised that we may be standing for a period of 1 hr or possibly more so Please dress appropriately for the weather. Water will be available.  If a member should need to take a break during the flag line Please let myself or another RC know and we will get you relief.
Members are reminded that Personal Weapons are not authorized on State Property.

We have been honored to provide a Flag Line for the interment of Cyril Carter Jackson, Seaman 1c, US Navy Reserve, who served from 11/1943 to 4/1946. His significant duty stations were Naval Training Station, Samson, NY, Armed Guard School, Norfolk, VA, Armed Guard Center, Treasure Island, CA, USS Monogahela, AO-42, SS Camp Catoche, SS Christopher Greenup, Navy Personnel Separation Center, Lido Beach, LI, NY. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
