As Patriot Guard Riders of CT grew and continues to grow, it was put in front of the membership the decision to design a state patch. What is unique Patriot Guard Riders of CT is where the basis for the design began.
There were many designs submitted from various members. In the end simplicity over road the intricate designs. During the time frame we were designing our patch, one of our members was deployed to the sandbox in Iraq in active duty in the U. S. Air Force. This member designed a simple illustration to show pride of our state, where we live, what we are, and what we stand for as Patriot Guard. Several other members collaborated in the refinement of the design, making it a trully collaborative design process.
We are proud of our design, the collaboration in the development of the design, and the fact that the roots of our state patch design started in the sandbox of Iraq by a deployed Patriot Guard Riders member.
Because of the almost square state lines of the state, this created the perfect background for the universally recognized symbol of the Patriot Guard Riders. To make certain there was no confusion of which state we represent, Connecticut was position above the symbol. And at the bottom, we included our slogan “Riding in Respect.”
Because Patriot Guard Rider’s evolution now includes more than just motorcycle riders our slogan evolved to “Standing for Those Who Stood For Us.” That replaced our slogan at the bottom of our patch.
