Decal Design

In 2011 Patriot Guard Riders of CT former state captain and now Vice President of Ride Captains, Bob Stone had an idea that a decal design would be an idea to promote Patriot Guard Riders of CT, contribute to recognition of Patriot Guard Riders of CT, and input from various different members and organizations. Designs were submitted and the membership voted. The winner of the design received a $100 donation to their favorite charity. Numerous designs were submitted. Once the members voted and the contest concluded, the winner was chosen.

The creators of the design were the Graphics and Design Department of  Fidelco.  The Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to promoting increased independence to men and women who are blind by providing them with the highest quality guide dogs.

Because of the almost square state lines of the state, this created the perfect background to display our American flag.  To add prestige to the outline of the state with the American flag as the foundation, a bald eagle was added to the left of the design.  The bald eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the national emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, as well as because it was then believed to exist only on this continent.  To tie the design together with the Patriot Guard Riders, the universally recognized symbol of the Patriot Guard Riders was added to the right side of the design, not only as an anchor, but to make it our own.

It is easy to see why this design was the winner in the over all contest.  We are getting more and more compliments on this beautiful design every day. text describing the image
