Patriot Guard and associates,
We are honored to have been invited to participate in a very special event Honor and Remember Flag Presentation for SSgt Edwin Rivera.

Staff Sergeant Edwin Rivera, 28, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and soldier, passed May 25, 2010, from wounds sustained in combat. With an adventurous spirit and a zest for life, SSG Rivera joined the Connecticut Army National Guard in 2002, initially as a chemical weapons specialist eventually transferring and becoming a combat infantryman. SSG Rivera was proudly serving with Apache Company, 1st Battalion, 102nd Infantry Regiment (Mountain) located in Norwalk, during his second deployment to Afghanistan. SSG Rivera’s professional achievements include graduating from the U.S. Army’s Airborne and Mountain Warfare schools along with the Warrior Leader’s Course. SSG Rivera possessed a passion for his family and helping people, especially his soldiers

NOTE: This flag presentation is in conjunction with the 3rd annual Ari Cullers Birthday Memorial Fundraiser event. Should any member wish to stay for the event after the Flag Line, tickets are $20 and benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

On October 20th, 2011, SGT Ari R. Cullers was KIA while serving in Afghanistan in the US Army. He was a member of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division based out of Fort Drum.

We will stand a Flag Line at this ceremony.

ASCJack Casey will be RCIC and flags will be on site
