We have been invited to stand a flag line at the Vietnam 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to be held on October 19, 2017 in Willimantic. 
We will stand a flag line to help Welcome the Honorees and their families as they arrive for the ceremony at 1700 hrs. 
 
STAGING WILL BE AT 1630 HRS at the Windham Technical High School  210 Birch St, Willimantic, CT 06226 
 
ASC Jack Casey will be RCIC and flags and water will be on site. 
 
As this is State Property and a school, Members are reminded that personal weapons are not permitted.

Sadly we are called to stand in Honor for John Clay “Jack” Bollinger PHM2 (Pharmacists Mate) USN WWII.
PHM2 Bollinger served 08/43 to 05/46 and was assigned to the Naval Receiving Station ST Louis, MO,  Naval Training Station Farragut, ID, Hospital Corpsman School Farragut, ID, Naval Hospital Philadelphia, PA, Naval Receiving Station Newport, RI, and the USS Missouri BB-63.
PHM2 Bollinger was aboard the “Big MO” and witnessed the signing of the Instrument of Surrender with Japan on Sept 2, 1945 thus ending the war with Japan.
Significant Awards include the Combat Action Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal w/ 3 Bronze Service Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal.
We will stand a flag line at the cemetery.
Staging will be at the Cheshire Hillside Cemetery, 166 Wallingford Rd, Cheshire CT 06410 at 0900 hrs for services at 1030 hrs.
This mission is part of a continued book being written with his personal story by the Arizona Memorial Foundation at Pearl Harbor, HI with his stories in his own words both in print and audio tape at the memorial. There will professional photographers from Los Angeles, CA at the cemetery photographing the internment.
ASC Jack Casey and ASC Skip Petras will be RCIC’s and points of contact for any interaction with the staff and documentary teams.
Flags and water will be provided.

We have been invited to participate in the 20th Anniversary of the CT Beirut Memorial Ceremony Saturday October 14th 2017 at 1300 hrs. All Wars Memorial 715 Bantam Rd., Bantam, CT. to Honor and Remember the Fallen Beirut Veterans. All Beirut Veterans from 1958, 1982-1984 are encouraged to attend. There will have a brief ceremony to honor and remember the 271 Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers KIA in Beirut Lebanon, with a special focus on those from Connecticut. Connecticut Veterans Affairs Commissioner Sean Connolly will be the featured speaker.

We will stand a flag line for the ceremony.

Staging will be at 1200 hrs at the Memorial 715 Bantam Rd, Bantam CT 06750.

We have again been asked to support the Run For The Fallen to honor the 65 servicemen and service women who have been killed since 9/11/2001. We will stand a Flag Line forthe last km of the run, talk to the youths (Boy Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, etc.)
about what PGR does and why honoring our heroes is important. We will provide a Flag Bike Escort for the last lap of the run. I need all Flags available so we can have 65 Flags for members of Civil Air Patrol to stand by each tree/plaque during the ceremony. The ceremony starts at 1430 hrs (2:30 pm), with the last lap beginning at 1300 hrs (1:00 pm).
ASC Skip Petras will be RCIC and Flags will be on site. RC’s with Flags get them to Skip or to me, or bring them with you.

We will ride in Flag Vehicle Escort along with members of the Christian Motorcyclist Association (CMA) from the Funeral Home to the Church. His ashes will be on his trailered motorcycle. You may go directly to the Church if you don’t wish to participate in escort. There will be no interment.
