Subject: December 23rd Welcome Home Escort – Lt. Michael Fanell

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone! Just catching our breath after a whirlwind of a wonderful holiday. We dropped Michael off at the airport on Tuesday…he’s now in Germany. I think he’s still in shock but very grateful for the welcome home!

There is absolutely no way we can truly express the gratitude we feel for everything you have done for Michael and our returning soldiers. From the moment we received a call from George Ogilvie telling us of the Patriot Guard Riders and their interest in welcoming home Michael, (thanks George for making it happen) to discussing details with Bob Stone (thanks for your help and hope your feeling better)…meeting Mac McArthur and John Bitter at the airport (thanks for coming all that way and great job getting us back to CT)…Jim McElroy and Frank Bania, NY (who arranged our police escort to meet Michael at the gate and the Patriot Guard reception in the airport) and the unbelievable reception we received from the town of Greenwich.

You guys are incredible and we can’t thank you enough for your caring and tireless effort of “planning and doing” to welcome home our guys! Your an extraordinary special group of people, and it was a pleasure and honor to meet and talk with all of you. Please extend our thanks and appreciation to ALL those involved who also participated.

We will always be grateful and will cherish the memories forever!

God Bless,

Sharon & Jim Capparelle
