Name Differences:

Did you know that Connecticut Patriot Guard is Incorporated?  Yes, it is true, Connecticut Patriot Guard is incorporated.

What does it mean to be incorporated?

To form a legal corporation is means to form an association of individuals, created by law or under authority of law, having a continuous existence independent of the existences of its members, and powers and liabilities distinct from those of its members.

Connecticut Patriot Guard Riders is a non-profit IRS 501(c)3 Tax Exempt corporation.

To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual.

Organizations described in section 501(c)(3) are commonly referred to as charitable organizations and are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions.

What does all of this mean?  The legal name of Connecticut Patriot Guard is Patriot Guard Riders of CT, Inc.

Based on all of this, although, we are not different than we were yesterday. We had to change the name of our website to be consistent with our legal name – our legal incorporated name and our 501 (c)(3) tax-deductible name.  Changes have been made throughout the site to reflect our legal name as well.

Two items were added today:

1.  A “Print” button.  This is a nifty little button.  It will allow you to print, convert to PDF, and/or email the page.  You will find this button near the bottom of the page on the left side.

2.  A “RSS” subscribe option.  This will allow you subscribe to any “blog” posting updates.  Our website is a mixture of actual page and blog updates.  While you can subscribe to blog posting updates, this will only provide the subscriber to receive update of blog postings.  Please do not be discouraged – the main parts of this site is in page formats.  As items are updated, they will be in blog format.  In a nutshell, should you choose to use the RSS subscribe option, you should receive adequate updates – it is also be helpful that you will continue to receive the statewide emails from the State Captain.

Remember….if you have questions or ideas, please feel free to contact me.
