Sadly, we have been requested to stand a Flag Line for John Albert Garner, US Army.

John was a Special Forces Operator (Green Beret) who served with the 5^th, 7^th and 10^th Special Forces Groups and retired with the rank of Sergeant Major. Additionally, John was a Master Parachutist with over 2,000 jumps. Prior to his selection into Special Forces, John served as a Combat Engineer.

He served as Commander of American Legion Post 48 in Chesnee, South Carolina for 3 years, where he, notably, led the restoration of an Army Vietnam-era COBRA AH-1F attack helicopter. He was also a member of the Special Forces Association Chapter 363 (South Carolina).

John received the following: National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon w/3 D and AWD, Army Commendation Medal, Master Parachute Badge, Good Conduct Medal w/4^th AWD, and Expert M16 Badge Rifle Bar.

We will stand a Flag Line for the entrance to the Memorial Service.

William served in the US Army for two years with the 5^th Battalion, 41^st Field Artillery Unit as a Radio Control Operator and was awarded the Sharpshooter Badge (Rifle) and the Expert Badge (Carbine).

We will provide a Flag Line for calling hours (1400-1700) and for Military Honors at 1730hrs at the funeral home.

NOTE: Members are encouraged to only stand the Flag Line as long as they are able and to take breaks throughout the mission.

Sadly, we have been requested to escort and stand for USMC/Firefighter Andrew Wade Hill.

Andrew served in the USMC as a Combat Engineer from 1992 to 1998. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation and the Pistol Sharpshooter Badge

Additionally, Drew joined the Windsor Locks Fire Department in 2001, beginning a 24-year legacy of service. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2023, he also served as an Apparatus Steward and played a vital role in coordinating community events such as the annual carnival, Torch Light Parade, and Trunk-or-Treat. Beyond the firehouse, Drew devoted countless hours to supporting veterans, ensuring they felt seen, appreciated, and cared for.

Sadly, Drew passed away while performing his final act of kindness—a community service project building a deck for an ill veteran. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Drew lived a life of service, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his community.

We will provide escort at the funeral home to the church, a Flag Line at the church, an escort to the cemetery and Flag Line at burial with Military Honors

CPL Scott served two years in the USMC with service in Vietnam.

CPL Scott suffered a stroke 20 years ago and was in a nursing home during that time with little to no visitors or family members. I was informed that his stroke was very likely attributed to Agent Orange exposure.

We will provide a Flag Line at the funeral home (wake 1000hrs-1100hrs), an escort to the cemetery and a Flag Line at the cemetery.
