Sadly, we have lost one of our own and have been requested to stand a Flag Line for Robert Andrew (Porky) Verrastro, CT/FL PGR.

Bob was an active member in CT several years back, was a very active member of FL PGR and with the Sons of American Legion. He loved nature, hiking, walking on the beach, kayaking, spelunking, motorcycles, traveling, having adventures, lending a hand to both those he loved and those he didn’t know who were in need.

We will stand a Flag Line at the church, an escort to the cemetery, and a Flag Line at the cemetery.

Sr RCIC John Bittner will be RCIC and have flags on site.

God Bless America, Our Troops and Our First Responders.

We have been invited to participate in the Memorial Day Ceremonies in the Town of Old Saybrook.
We will Stand a Flag Line for the Wreath Laying Ceremony. Coffee & Donuts will be provided.
Following the Wreath Laying we will proceed as a group to the Parade Staging area at Stop & Shop.  Flagged Vehicles and PGR Identified Vehicles are requested.
We have been Requested to Stand a Flag Line at the Town Green following the Parade. Our own Bill Voight US Navy Veteran is the Grand Marshal.

Sadly, we have been requested to stand a Flag Line for Michael Fraycheck, USMC.

 

Michael served as a Field Artillery Control Man 1968-1970 with one-year service in Vietnam.

 

Michael was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Marksmanship Badge-Rifle, National Defense Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the funeral home from 1600-1730hrs.

 

Sr. Ride Captain Jack Liversidge will be RCIC and have flags on site.

We are Honored to have been invited by Honor Flight CT to participate in the Escort and Ceremony for approximately 50 Veterans from Korea and Vietnam who are being taken to Washington DC to visit their respective monuments, many for their first time.
A flagged/PGR identified vehicle escort will start at Windsor Locks High School to bring the Veterans to the Airport for the Pre Departure Ceremony. Stage time is 6:30am.
RC Greg Young (860-227-7525) will be RCIC for the Escort STAGE.
Morning  Airport Stage will include a Flag Line for the arriving Veterans as they prepare for departure. A Pre Departure Ceremony will be held at the SOUTHWEST AIRLINES baggage claim area lower level door #2. Stage time is 6:30am
RC Rob Migliore 203-815-9687 will be RCIC for the Airport Stage with flags on site.
EVENING RETURN EVENT
Evening return Airport Stage will include a Flag Line for the return of the Veterans.  A flagged vehicle escort has been Requested from the Airport to the High School if available. Evening Stage is at 10:30pm at SOUTHWEST AIRLINES Arrivals.
RC Kevin Rancourt 860-819-4199 will be RCIC for the return event with flags on site.
Ride Captains are requested to bring their flags if possible to any of the stages.
MEMBERS ARE REMINDED THAT PERSONAL WEAPONS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON STATE AND TOWN PROPERTY.
