Robert served in the US Army for 3 years with a deployment to Korea.  He served with the HQ Battery, 84th Field Artillery Battalion and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and The National Defense Service Medal.

 

Our Hero was a close personal friend of Ass’t State Captain Steve Marcolini and we are sorry for your loss sir.

We will stand a Flag Line at the funeral home for calling hours which is from 10000hrs to 1200hrs.  Interment will be at a later date.

Sadly, we have been requested to provide a Flag Line and escort for Ray Williams, WWII, US Army Air Corps.

 

Ray served in the 5th Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre of occupation from 1945-1947 reaching the rank of Sergeant and was a Radio Operator stationed in Japan.  He received the following medals: WWII Victory Medal, The Asian-Pacific Campaign Medal, The American Campaign Medal, and The Good Conduct Medal.

 

Ray was a lifetime member of the American Legion, served as Post Commander #21 for 12 terms and was inducted in the CT American Legion Hall of Fame in 2017.  He also served 4 years on the CT American Legion Executive Committee.  Additionally, he was a lifetime member of AMVETS POST #45.  Ray was also very involved and on the Executive Committee of the VJ Parade Committee.

 

One of Ray’s sons, Gary, is a PGR Ride Captain in NC and we are very sorry for your loss sir.

 

We will provide a Flag Line at the visitation, an escort to the cemetery and a Flag Line at the cemetery.

We have been requested to stand a Flag Line for Joseph Kapacziewski, US Army, at the dedication of a wing at Eastern Bristol High School as well as a presentation of a shadow box and portrait of this Hero.

 

Joe was a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He lost his leg in combat and returned to active duty as a Ranger. He was interred at Arlington National Cemetery  and he grew up in Bristol, attended BEHS, and still has family in the area.

 

Park in the lot at the front entrance to the school.

In 1969, upon receiving his draft letter, he joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from college. He graduated from pilot training in 1971 and went on to command a KC-135 Stratotanker crew charged with refueling B-52 bombers, attaining the rank of Captain in 1973.

 

One of Bob’s final wishes was to have his remains escorted by PGR, Legion Riders and classic cars.

 

We will provide an escort from the funeral home to the Lebanon fairgrounds then stand a Flag Line there during Military Honors.
