Jonathan was a Member of the New London Motorcycle Club, Riders of Fire and did missions with CT PGR. Jonathan was also a member of the Mystic River Ambulance Service, Former Police Officer with the New London Police Dept and a Dispatcher with the Town of Ledyard. 
Significant Duty Stations include 134th Military Police Company Forward, and the 643rd Military Police Company CT ARNG.
Significant Awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/ M Device, Army Service Ribbon.
We will Stand a Flag Line for Calling Hours at the Funeral Home on Tuesday 03/10/2020.  RC Jennifer Hauser will be RCIC.

YLITALO, RONALD E., 70, of Freedom Way, Coventry, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Riverview Healthcare facility. Born in Hancock, Michigan, he was a son of the late Francis and Laila (Kanniainen) Ylitalo.

Ron was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #324 for many years before retiring. He was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps serving in the Vietnam War. For over 10 years, Ron was proud to serve in the Patriot Guard Riders.

He was a true outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and fish. Ron was a member and an officer at the North Bull Moose Lodge #9511 in Michigan.

Ronald is survived by a sister, Joanne Lemmon of Romulus, Michigan as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norman, Donald and Jackie Ylitalo.

A Committal Service with Military Honors will be Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:30 am at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail in Exeter. Relatives and friends may assemble at 11:15 am by the administrative buildings at the main entrance of the Cemetery.  Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted, memorial donations to the National Patriot Guard Riders (www.patriotguard.org )would be appreciated.
