Special Mission – Hike for Heroes 11/07/2012

*** Special Mission***

Hike For Heroes

Milford, CT.

WED NOV 7th 0900hrs

Patriot Guard and associates,

We are pleased to have been asked to participate by the organizers for “Hike For Heroes” to provide a Flag Line at a celebration event being held in Milford at the Orange Avenue School.

Starting in September of 2012, the Hike for Heroes team set out to hike across the east coast on foot from Maine to Florida. Their journey will span nearly 3000 miles across the East Coast Greenway trail to inspire people they meet to help military families in need with the message that anyone can step up to help. Their mission is to hike up to 30 miles a day and conquer nearly 3000 miles across the east coast on foot.

One of the hikers is William Mosebach who is an Army Vet having served four plus years as an Airborne Medic in the 2-503rd 173rd Infantry Battalion in Vicenza, Italy. During his service he was deployed to Northern Iraq and inserted by means of a Combat Jump, the first and only during the war, where he spent a year fighting with and tending to the wounds of brothers that he will never forget.

We will stand a Flag Line at this event.

Sr. RC Jack Casey will be RCIC and flags will be on site.

Special Mission – Hartford Veterans Day Parade 11/4/2012

***Special Mission***

Hartford Veterans Day Parade

Hartford, CT.

SUN, NOV 4th, 1230hrs

Patriot Guard and Associates:

We are pleased to have been asked by the organizers of the Hartford Veterans Day Parade committee to participate in the upcoming parade on Sunday, November 4th in Hartford. This is a terrific event to honor our Veterans with over 4,000 participants expected.

The parade kicks off at 12:30 and the exact staging time and location will be provided shortly (details not available till October 29th). I would anticipate the stage time to be about 0930hrs.

This event has a limit of 12 bikes and 10 cars/trucks. I have 6 open bike slots and 6 open vehicle spots that will be available to all members on a first come first serve basis by emailing me back. Once the limit has been reached, I will send an update out to all members.

Few things to keep in mind if you are considering this special mission:

  • ·                         The parade is long–about 2 hours.
  • ·                         If your bike has a tendency to overheat, I suggest you pass on this one.
  • ·                         If you take a spot, I would appreciate your attendance.

Skip Petras will be RCIC for this event.
