SHORT NOTICE

***Special Mission***

Escort for President of Navaho Code Talkers Association

T F Green Airport

Warwick, RI.

THU, OCT 25th, 1630hrs

Patriot Guard and associates,

We are very excited to have been asked to provide an escort to Mr. Peter MacDonald who is the President of the Navaho Code Talkers Association.  The escort will go from TF Green Airport in RI to Foxwoods where Mr. MacDonald will be speaking on Saturday.

Peter MacDonald (born 1928) is a Native American and the only four- term Chairman of the Navajo Tribe. MacDonald was born in Arizona and served the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II as a Navajo Code Talker. Raised among traditional sheepherders and groomed as a medicine man, MacDonald entered the Marine Corps as a Navajo language code talker during World War II. The war ended soon after his training was complete and he was deployed in post-war China to guard surrendered Japanese officers

About Code Talkers:

They were a small band of warriors who created an unbreakable code from the ancient language of their people and changed the course of modern history. Known as Navajo Code Talkers, they were young Navajo men who transmitted secret communications on the battlefields of WWII. At a time when America’s best cryptographers were falling short, these modest sheepherders and farmers were able to fashion the most ingenious and successful code in military history. They drew upon their proud warrior tradition to brave the dense jungles of Guadalcanal and the exposed beachheads of Iwo Jima. Serving with distinction in every major engagement of the Pacific theater from 1942-1945, their unbreakable code played a pivotal role in saving countless lives and hastening the war’s end.

We have the approval from RI PGR to provide this escort and Sr. RC Jack Casey will be RCIC.

Behind the Scenes – Facts about the Calendar

The goals for these posts: Behind the Scenes

Of recent there seems to be questions  about the time frame of missions and events on the calendar for Connecticut Patriot Guard.  As the website coordinator and in the attempt to help the State Captain not to be completely flooded with emails about the time frame of missions and events, I would like to make some clarifications.

The time frames on the calendar have not changed since the inception of this website and the use of the calendar.  These time frames are PURELY estimations. There is simply NO way to determine how short or how long a mission will last until AFTER the the mission has been completed.

There are times that missions or events have taken less than an hour and there are times they have lasted longer than 4 hours. As a service, this calendar is this merely for scheduling purposes only, the missions and events are posted for anywhere from 2 to 4 hours in duration.

In the posting of these missions and events I consult closely with Senior Ride Captain, Jack Casey. I would say that 99% of the participants know Jack and feels he has a good handle on some estimations of time frames involved.

Even with this, it is VERY important to remember that missions and events will be posted for a time frame, which could turn out to be right on target or completely off base.  Keeping in mind, there is simply NO way to determine how short or how long a mission will last until AFTER the the mission has been completed.

TO REINFORCE THE CALENDAR POSTINGS TIME FRAMES, AGAIN I AM STATING:  The time frames on the calendar have not changed since the inception of this website and the use of the calendar. These time frames are PURELY estimations. There is simply NO way to determine how short or how long a mission will last until AFTER the the mission has been completed.

As a suggestion to EVERYONE – when a mission is posted to the calendar – instead of emailing the State Captain about the time frame that has been estimated for the there, it is important for all members to keep FIVE points in mind:

  • If you have questions about the time frame on the calender – remember THESE TIME ARE ONLY ESTIMATIONS!
  • If you wish to talk with someone regarding the time frames – the first person you should contact is the Ride Captain In Charge. This person is always the point of contact regarding the missions you have questions about. That is specifically why their email is included in the state wide messages announcing missions.
  • If you have questions about the time frame on the calender – remember THESE TIMES FRAMES ARE ONLY ESTIMATIONS!
  • If cannot get your questions answered or you have concerns that need to be addressed, you can contact me, Carol Casey at this address: connecticutpatriotguard@gmail.com and rest assured if I do not know the answer to your question(s) or require more information than I can provide – I will get your answers just quick possible.  99.9% of the time, if you contact the State Captain, he will be contacting the Ride Captain In Charge or me. So, cut to the chase and go right to the most appropriate person to answer your questions or clarify your concerns.
  • If you have questions about the time frame on the calender – remember THESE TIME ARE ONLY ESTIMATIONS!

REMEMBER – THE CALENDAR POSTINGS: The time frames on the calendar have not changed since the inception of this website and the use of the calendar. These time frames are PURELY estimations. There is simply NO way to determine how short or how long a mission will last until AFTER the the mission has been completed.

Remember….if you have questions or ideas, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
