Robert served in the US Air Force as an Airman Basic and was medically discharged.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the calling hours on Wednesday 10/1 and then at the church and the cemetery on Thursday 10/2.

Sadly, we are called to stand for Lt. Col. Charles “The Colonel” Alex, Sr. US Army, WWII, Korea, Vietnam. He was 105 years old.

 

Charlie joined the National Guard in 1939. The following year, his 30 year military career in the U.S. Army’s Infantry was set in motion. He served in WW II, Korea & Vietnam, which included tours in New Zealand, the South Pacific, Europe and various U.S. bases, with his final tour in Manhattan, as an Inspector General. Along the way, Charlie garnered a plethora of medals and awards prior to his retirement on October 31, 1971, with a tribute celebration that took place in his hometown, on the 8th of January 1972.

 

He was awarded: The Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Army Occupation medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medaland The  Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the Rocky Hill Veterans Center, an escort to the cemetery and a Flag Line at the cemetery.

Sadly, we are called to stand for Earle Siddell, US Army, Vietnam.

 

Earle served his country for 21 years in the US Army as a Signal Support Operations Specialist and was discharged as a 1st Sergeant.

 

He was awarded The National Vietnam Service Medal with w/2 Bronze Service Stars, The Good Conduct Medal (2^nd award), The National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and The Army Commendation Medal.

 

This Hero was the father of the late Buzz Siddell, a long time PGR member.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the cemetery for Military Honors.

We will stand a Flag Line at the cemetery for Military Honors.

Sadly, we are called to stand for James McDonough, US Air Force.

 

James enlisted into the United States Air Force in December 1961 and went to tech school for electronics in Denver, Colorado. He became a Master Technician on the B-47 Stratojet stationed at Lincoln Air Force base Nebraska during the Cuban Missile Crisis as part of Strategic Air Command. He was honorably discharged in January 1965, where he stayed in reserve capacity for 2 more years.

 

James was awarded The Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Award.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the cemetery for Military Honors.
