Flags In at CT State Veterans Cemetery Saturday 11/07/2020 9am
Help will be needed at the CT State Veterans Cemetery on November 7th to place approximately 10,500 Flags at the final resting place of the Veterans that are laid to rest there.Â
Because of restrictions due to COVID19, this is NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.Â
Per Commissioner Saadi:  Nov 7 flags in at the State Cemetery in Middletown at 9:00am. Veterans, First Responders, and Military personnel only, not open to the public. 150 people total due to COVID restrictions and masks and social distances to be followed. We will need a listing of all personnel participating in case of any issues for safety reasons if needed.Â
If you are available to assist, it would be greatly appreciated.  If we can get around 150 to place the flags, it should take less than 2 hours.Â
Please consider helping to place the Flags if you are able.

**ATTEND ON YOUR OWN** ROBERT MURPHY “FINAL RIDE” LISBON CT SATURDAY 10/24/2020 12 NOON STAGING
Patriot Guard and Associates;
Murphy was a Lisbon resident who previously served as president of the Norwich Area Veterans Council and currently as the president of the Norwich VFW Auxiliary, as well as commander of a local Three Rivers Young Marines unit and the master of ceremonies for several veterans’ events. He is being remembered fondly and with sadness by his colleagues and family.
“Our Dad was a Marine and Bob idolized him,†said Murphy’s bother, Gary. “But Bob had diabetes since he was a child and couldn’t serve. Instead he dedicated himself to veterans in other ways.â€
