Wreaths Across America (WAA)

Escort Through Connecticut

Patriot Guard Riders and Associates,

I have been informed that due to weather forecast, the State Police will not allow motorcycles in the WAA escorttomorrow. You are still welcome to join the escort in RI, at the Mohegan Sun casino or at the Old Saybrook High School. We will form a Flag Line at the casino and at the high school to welcome the WAA procession. Jack Casey will have Flags on site.

Patriot Guard Riders and Associates,

Though the WAA Escort did not work out as in the past, CT Patriot Guard will still form an escort for the convoy and if possible stand a Flag Line at the stops in Connecticut.

FIRST STAGE: For those who wish to meet in RI to take up the escort:

North Scituate, RI

We will meet RIPGR at the school and join their Flag Line as requested. Scheduled to leave the school at 1130 hrs to head to Mohegan Sun Casino
Via RT 101 into CT.

SECOND STAGE: 1145 HRS, Dec 9th, 2014. Jack Casey will RCIC and have Flags on Site.

Mohegan Sun Casino
1 Mohegan Sun Boulevard
Uncasville, CT

Arrival approximately 1230 hrs. Touch-a-Truck period followed by a Welcome Ceremony.
The convoy will depart the Casino at 1430 hrs (approx) and proceed via I-395 and I-95 to

Old Saybrook High School
1111 Boston Post Road
Old Saybrook, CT

Arrival estimated at 1500 hrs. This is a rest stop with no program scheduled at this time.
Old Saybrook Fire Dept will be providing a meal at the High School for participants in the escort.

The WAA convoy will depart Old Saybrook 1730 hrs to 1800 hrs and proceed via I-95 to the Darien Service Area between Exit 10 and 9,
Arrival estimated at 1915 hrs, where we will hand off the escort to NYPGR.

Change: After leaving the Darien Rest Area, the escort will be picked up by NY State Police and NYPGR on the highway between exit 3 and exit 2 on I-95 South. It is planned to be a rolling hand-off with CT State Police blocking the highway while NY police pick up the procession. Those who have escorted to this point can exit the highway at exit 2 and return to I-95 North at this point.

CTPGR may join the WAA Escort at any point, to show our support for the philosophy of “REMEMBER, HONOR, AND TEACH”.
