WREATH PICK UP AT CT STATE VETERANS CEMETERIES

0800 HRS (8:00 AM), FRIDAY, 20 JANUARY 2017

Patriot Guard,
There will be an Attend On Your Own Mission starting at 0800 hrs (8:00am), on Friday, 20 January 2017, to pick up the wreaths put down in December 2016, at the Veterans Cemeteries throughout the state. They ask that if possible you bring a wheelbarrow, and wear water proof boots as the grounds are quite wet. Attend as long as you are able.

We have been requested to stand a Flag Line for the Key Ceremony for Spc Sean Pesce, as he is presented the keys to a new mortgage free, specially adapted home.

Due to the Wreath Laying taking place at the CT Veterans Cemetery at the same time, I am making this an Attend On Your Own mission. I request any PGR who are not taking part in the Wreath Laying, to attend this Key Presentation in honor of Spc Pesce. Please bring your own Flags.

Be prepared to talk to the students about your service (if a veteran) and about what we do as Patriot Guard Riders and why we do it.

The Connecticut Renaissance Faire’s Heroes Day, Columbus Day, Monday 10 October 2016, North Haven, CT

This is an Attend On Your Own event that I have been asked to spread the word. I don’t know if you are interested in attending this type of event, but they can be fun. Active or retired Military, Police, Fire or Dispatchers are offered free admission with proof of service. Go and enjoy the day. It is located at the North Haven Fairgrounds, 290 Washington Ave., North Haven, CT 06473, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm.

MUNICIPAL TRAINING EVENT

CT Department of Veterans Affairs 

 

Hello to all our members,

The CT Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is holding the second Municipal Veterans Representatives Training at the Rocky Hill Campus Friday October 7th from 0900 to 1300 hrs (9:00 am to 1:00 pm). They are also holding a Veteran Service Officer Fair for service organizations can set up information tables to hand out information about the services provided.

The CT Patriot Guard Riders will again have a table in the auditorium to make other VSO’s aware of our program. Mac McArthur, Jack Casey and Skip Petras will be there and anyone else who would like to join us is welcome to sit with us and talk about our program. I recommend you get there at about 0800 (8:00 am) because the parking lot fills up fast. You may also join us at any time before 1300 (1:00 pm).

We have been invited to participate in the Inaugural Freedom Isn’t Free Ride to benefit the IAVA and Homeless Veterans. The Ride starts at the commuter parking lot off Exit 46 of the Merritt Parkway, ending at Joey C’s Boathouse in Stratford, CT. The cost is $35.00 per rider in advance, $40.00 per rider the day of the ride. Advance registration by e-mail to russellj.edgett@gmail.com .

Once again we are participating in the Middletown Motorcycle Mania, 1630 hrs (4:30 pm) until 2030 hrs (8:30 pm), on Main Street, Middletown, CT. Set up time is from 1400 hrs to 1530 hrs (2:00 pm to 3:30 pm), all vehicles must be removed from the street by 1530 hrs (3:30 pm). I will be there early to point out our location. anyone who wishes to assist in set up should arrive early so you can find parking close by.

ENFIELD INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

SATURDAY JULY 9,2016 (0930 HRS STAGING)

Patriot Guard and Associates;

We have been invited to participate in the Town of Enfield CT Independence Day Celebration Parade to be held on July 9, 2016 at 11am.

The staging area will use 1365 Enfield St (RT 5), Enfield, CT 06082 as the address for GPS coordinates. CTPGR is assigned to division 2 and will be located in front of the St Joseph’s Residence,

Members attending will need to be in the staging area by 09:30ma as the roadway will be closed no later than 10:00am

ASC Jack Casey will be RCIC and will have flags and water on site.

Members are reminded to dress appropriately for the predicted weather.

We have been invited to attend the God and Country Patriotic Service to be held on Sunday June 19th at 10:30am at The Lighthouse Baptist Church, 668 Lakewood Rd. Waterbury, CT. 06704.

This service is being presented to Honor Veterans and Fallen Heroes. Nothing but attendance is requested by the church.

Staging 0945 hrs for the 10:30 service at the LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST CHURCH 668 Lakewood Rd. Waterbury, CT. 06704.
