Let us honor and remember the 613 Connecticut men who were killed in action during the Vietnam War. The reading of names of the 613 Connecticut men who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We will stand a Flag Line at this ceremony.

We are very pleased to have been invited to participate in an outstanding event to benefit the Sandy Hook Fire Department (Newtown, CT).

 

Our own RC MadMike Freedman is the leader of a Chili Cook off where all proceeds will go to benefit the Sandy Hook Fire Department.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at this opening ceremony to honor these 1st responders who have endured so much in the past few weeks.

 

State Captain Gregg Barratt will be RCIC and flags will be on site.

 

Of note, this is a public event so feel to bring friends and family. There is a $8.00 admission donation for the public.

Operation Elf is only a few weeks away.  December 15.   We are in need of donations! 
 
Any finger-foods:   Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, fruit plates, chips/dips, vegetable plates (etc)
 
I am also putting together theme gift baskets for a chinese auction.   NO TICKETS TO PURCHASE… everyone (man, woman and child) will receive a certain amount of tickets to place in the basket of their choice. 
 
If you would like to put together a theme basket (doesn’t have to be elaborate) let me know; or if you would like to donate an item or two for a theme basket, let me know…
 
Suggested themes…  toys (one for boys one for girls); an infant basket, an entertainment basket, pamper yourself basket, and a ‘for your soldier’ (things to send to your soldier) basket.  Any other ideas please let me know.  
 
This is an event for families and children of deployed soldiers… lets give them a day to remember!

Military Appreciation Night, 12/1/2012 Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hockey Team

Military Appreciation Night: Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hockey Team. Harbor Yard Arena, Bridgeport, December 1st at 1900hrs. A portion of every ticket sold  will go to Patriot Guard Riders of CT

The organizers of this Military Appreciation night have invited all PGR members to attend this special hockey game at a discounted ticket rate, stand and be recognized during the game, provide us a spot to set up our PGR table and $5.00 of every ticket sold will go to PGR. Possibility of standing a Flag Line at the National Anthem,  waiting on confirmation. Players will be wearing camo jerseys and a great many Veterans will be in attendance.

Field of Flags

ATTEND ON YOUR OWN

Field of Flags for two weeks leading up to Veteran ‘s Day. A flag is placed for each service member who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan. The flags have been all over the country. There are curr

ently over 6,500 flags. It presents a very poignant way to show the true cost of war and to show that we have not forgotten There will be a Service of Dedication on Saturday October 27,2012 starting at 11:00 AM on the Town Green in Branford.

Walk of Honor , Sept 14; Danbury, CT

The Minutemen Riders will be part of a Flag Line at the Danbury Walk of Honor this Sunday the 14th at 1200hrs. War Memorial, 1 Memorial Drive, Danbury, CT

 The Walk of Honor is an event that Honors the Veterans of All American Wars Both Past & Present for they have Blessed us with Freedom by their service. 

 Navy Corpsman Todd Angell has been named the first Walk of Honor Warrior Award recipient.  Angell received the Silver Star in May for his heroic actions in Afghanistan and he is affectionately called “Doc” Angell by those who served with him.

 The will have limited flags on hand but please come out to support them as well as this hero
