I don’t know what the parking situation will be so it’s recommended you arrive early.

Sadly we are called to stand a Flag Line for Robert G. Hecker Sr., YN1 (SS), US Navy, who served honorably from 1979 to 1988. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (Second Award), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Enlisted Submarine Breast Insignia, SSBN Deterrant Patrol Insignia and two Letters of Commendation.  Rob was the Director of the Connecticut Chapter of Honor and Remember, as well as the Post Commander of the Waterford VFW.  He was also a member of United States Submarine Veterans, Groton Base. Rob was a strong supporter of CT Patriot Guard Riders, therefore I am promoting him to Ride Captain Posthumously, in recognition of his efforts in bringing the Honor and Remember CT Chapter and CT PGR together.

We will stand a Flag Line at the Funeral Home during the service there. We will provide a Motorcycle Flag Bike Escort from the Funeral Home to the cemetery for the interment, where Military Honors will be rendered.

Good evening Patriot Guard and associates.  Sadly we are called to stand for yet another fallen Hero, GySgt. Thomas Sullivan, may he rest in peace. 

This will be a multi-state mission involving both PGR and non-PGR groups, for the services at the church and cemetery Monday only PGR will be involved at those locations, staging and mission info for non-PGR is also included in this email as they will form a flag line on Main St. in Agawam

Friday there will be a (closed) escort out of Bradley that MAC and Gregg will be in along with CTSP and Springfield PD vehicles to bring our Hero to the funeral home where we will stand a flag line.  Sunday is the wake, attend on your own or follow the MA PGR lead, Monday are the Church services and graveside services open to PGR only.  CT PGR will do one stage Monday morning north of Hartford for those wishing to travel in a group, if you have any questions please refer to the points of contact listed below or email me at NewEngland@PatriotGuard.org.  CT staging info located at the very bottom of this email.

Final Update – US Marine Corps GySgt Thomas Sullivan, 40, Springfield/Agawam, MA 24,26,27 JULY ’15

The family of Gunnery Sergeant Thomas Sullivan has requested our presence at the funeral of their loved one.
    Gunny Sergeant Sullivan was killed in Tennessee, along with four other Marines, when a terrorist gunman went on a rampage at a military recruiting facility in Chattanooga, Tenn.
    He was a two tour Iraqi War veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart.
    GySgt Sullivan had been a Marine since 1997 and was currently an artillery instructor. He was assigned to India Battery, 3rd Battalion, 14 Marines.

GySgt Sullivan update…… all PGR plans have been approved by the various law enforcement agencies. Please keep in mind that plans have been implemented in sticking with the wishes of the Sullivan family. The funeral IS PRIVATE. PGR has been entrusted with planning the (other than military) honor services and is the only group invited to the Church and at the cemetery.

ATTENTION……..All Non – PGR members and groups wanting to take part in honoring GySgt Sullivan should stage on Monday morning, no later than 0900 at the Big-E grounds, gate 1…..1305 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, Ma. Our good friend Todd (T-bone) of the Guardian Soldiers LEMC will be coordinating activities there. Rehab trucks from Salvation Army, Red Cross etc. will be on site and facilities will be available.  Your mission is a flag line on Main St. in Agawam

It is with deep sadness and respect that I announce the passing of one of our CT Patriot Guard, JoAnn “Dimples” Fuller. Dimples was an individual who was instrumental in the formation of the CT Chapter, and was a mainstay at most of our Missions and Special Events. We lost a true friend when she moved back to Maine to be close to her family, but know she was an outstanding addition to the Maine Patriot Guard. We were heartbroken to hear of her passing. We send Condolences to the family and friends of JoAnn.

I am very sad to report that the Maine PGR has lost a long time member, JoAnn Fuller.  My condolences to the Family and friends of JoAnn. JoAnn will be remembered as an extremely understanding, caring, giving and forgiving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and   “Dimples,” an outstanding member of the Patriot Guard Rider organization in Connecticut and Maine


Services will be at the Federated Church located at 13 Island Ave., Skowhegan, on
Saturday, July 18, at 1 p.m., including a Celebration of Life gathering followed by an escort and graveside service at her final resting place, Forest Hill Cemetery,  130 Upper Park St.,  Madison.  Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Rd., Skowhegan, ME

***The turnout is just after the RR crossing about ¼ mile on the right.   It is almost across from the Sappi paper mill.   Route 201 is off from I-95 Exit  133,  and the turnout is approx. 7 miles from the exit.    The Funeral home is just a few miles up the road from the staging area.

We are very excited to have been invited by the Veterans Employee Team (VET) of the Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation to participate in their Flag Day celebration. They are sponsoring this event on June 18, 2015 from 1100 hrs to 1300 hrs, and will have several Veteran, State and Federal organizations there, with a military vehicle display. There will also be food vendors at the event.

We will stand a Flag Line at the opening ceremony, and Full Flag bikes will ride into the event.
