Sadly we are called to stand for George E. Ellis, RM3, US Navy,  who served our country honorably from 1942 to 1946 during WWII. He served aboard the USS Shubrick DE-639. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

This is a 2-part Mission, with the Wake on Monday and Interment on Wednesday.

We will stand a Flag Line at the funeral home during the Wake from 1600 hrs to 2000 hrs, Interment will be on Wednesday where we will stand a Flag Line for Military Honors.

Assistant State Captain Jack Casey will be RCIC and Flags will be onsite.

They have spent the last four days in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where they met and bonded with over 1,700 other families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We will stand a Flag Line to show our respect for their loss and to Welcome them home from this awesome trip.

We will provide a motorcycle Escort for the Wreaths Across America caravan. We are not allowed to fly Full Flags due to State Police safety considerations. I want to meet the escort at the Ponagansett Middle School in RI so we will be in the lead position when we enter CT.

We have been asked to provide a Flag Line for the Wreaths Across America convoy as it arrives in Connecticut. We will form a Flag Line at St. Bernard School and at Old Saybrook High School.

***SPECIAL MISSION***CONNECTICUT VETERANS PARADE, 1230 HRS (STAGING 1000), SUNDAY, 8 NOVEMBER 2015, HARTFORD, CT 06106

Patriot Guard and Associates,

We will again participate in the CTVETERANS PARADE, to be held on Sunday, 8 November 2015. The parade kicks off at 1230 hrs, however we must stage before 1000 hrs before the roads are closed. We will have a small flatbed trailer for riders, plus Skip’s pick-up truck. Those who wish to ride their motorcycles are welcome (limited to 12). Flags will be on site, but if you have PGR Flags, please bring them. Long range forecast calls for cloudy with temps in the 50’s.

Skip will bring a b-b-q grill and have paper goods, utensils and condiments. Jack Casey said he will bring hot dog/hamburg rolls. If you want something grilled, bring it.

We have been assigned the GOLD Division. The trailer and pick-up truck as well as motorcycles should go straight on Hudson St. to the corner of Buckingham St. You will be directed to the staging location. Those planning to ride the trucks, park in the state parking lots on Capital Ave. Walk south to the Gold staging area on Buckingham St.

There will be a Moment of Silence observed at 1330 hrs (1:30 PM). Churches will ring their bells in honor of our veterans. All Units must stop and musical Units must stop playing.
