Sadly, we have been requested to provide an escort and stand a Flag Line for Robert Slate, US Air Force.

 

In 1969, upon receiving his draft letter, he joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from college. He graduated from pilot training in 1971 and went on to command a KC-135 Stratotanker crew charged with refueling B-52 bombers, attaining the rank of Captain in 1973.

 

One of Bob’s final wishes was to have his remains escorted by PGR, Legion Riders and classic cars.

 

We will provide an escort from the funeral home to the Lebanon fairgrounds then stand a Flag Line there during Military Honors.

Sadly, we have been requested to stand a Flag Line for Charles Rozanski, US Navy.

 

Charles served in the US Navy for 4 years as a Radio Operator.  He served on the USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-31) and received the following: National Defense, Korean, United Nations, China and good conduct medals.

 

We will stand a Flag Line church, provide a flagged escort to the cemetery, and stand a Flag Line at the cemetery.

 

SC Gregg Barratt will be RCIC and have flags on site.

We are Honored to have been invited to participate in the Veterans Luncheon being held at the Westbrook Elks Lodge #1784 142 Seaside Ave, Westbrook, CT. Veterans and Guests from various Residential settings, and towns are expected to attend.
We will Stand a Flag Line for the Arrival of Veterans and Guests. Members have been invited to have lunch as well.
RC Rob Migliore (203-815-9687) will be RCIC with Flags on Site.
Of note, this Special Mission occurs at approximately the same time as two Honor Missions the same day.  While members are encouraged to attend any mission they would like, we make Honor MIssions the priority for the families and the Hero.

Sadly, we have been requested to stand a Flag Line for one of our own PGR members, Kevin Eugene O’Day, CPO, US Navy.

 

Kevin proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 22 years as a Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operator, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. He served on the USS L.Y. Spear (AS-36), USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), USS Dallas (SSN-700), and the USS Henry M. Jackson (SSBN-730). He received numerous commendations throughout his naval career.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the cemetery, then move to Jewett City VFW, stand a Flag Line for entrance of family and friends to Kevin’s Celebration of Life.

We are Honored to have been invited by Honor Flight CT to participate in the Escort and Ceremony for approximately 50 Veterans from Korea and Vietnam who are being taken to Washington DC to visit their respective monuments, many for their first time.
A flagged/PGR identified vehicle escort will start at Windsor Locks High School to bring the Veterans to the Airport for the Pre Departure Ceremony. Stage time is 6:30am.
RC Greg Young (860-227-7525) will be RCIC for the Escort STAGE.
Morning  Airport Stage will include a Flag Line for the arriving Veterans as they prepare for departure. A Pre Departure Ceremony will be held at the SOUTHWEST AIRLINES baggage claim area lower level door #2. Stage time is 6:30am
RC Rob Migliore 203-815-9687 will be RCIC for the Airport Stage with flags on site.
EVENING RETURN EVENT
Evening return Airport Stage will include a Flag Line for the return of the Veterans.  A flagged vehicle escort has been Requested from the Airport to the High School if available. Evening Stage is at 10:30pm at SOUTHWEST AIRLINES Arrivals.
RC Kevin Rancourt 860-819-4199 will be RCIC for the return event with flags on site.
Ride Captains are requested to bring their flags if possible to any of the stages.
MEMBERS ARE REMINDED THAT PERSONAL WEAPONS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON STATE AND TOWN PROPERTY.
