The Patriot Guard of Connecticut

How does one say thank you? I can’t explain how much I appreciate the PGR being there for Bill at the end of his life and then as we laid him to rest. The heart’s of your member’s burn with a light of dedication that goes beyond the norm of life.

Bill’s brothers were very proud and Randy was especially proud to ride with all of you. Bill got Randy interested in the PGR and Randy sought out the PGR in Indiana. The kindred spirit runs strong and deep.

I know that your contribution to Bill in life and in his passing would have made him very proud and I did not fail in my endeavor to do all that I could to complete Bill’s last wishes and that included your presence. I never expected your numbers and remain in awe of that support.

The family was so thankful for Patti, for her presence among us and all that she was able to help with and all we got done in preparing for Bill’s service. She knew who to call and was well able. Bob, be sure to thank whoever else was involved in the bike work which so needed to be done. I only knew what Bill had planned for the spring but we never got too.

You are commended by the family for the wonder work of support that you do and we will be forever grateful.

Jack, for all the work he just finished for the Town of Morris, I promise that I will help open the doors of the Clerk’s offices to help get this job you have taken on moving forward more easily. As I begin to search for these families I know they will be pleased and proud to receive the honor forms.

Thanking each and every one of you for all that you helped with for Bill’s service.

Thank you
Ann Carr
Wife of the late William R. Carr

To the Members of the Patriot Guard:

On behalf of the family of retired Lieutenant Stephen Wood and the men and women of the New Canaan Police Department, I would like to offer our sincere thanks for your organization’s participation in the funeral for Lieutenant Wood, which was held on Friday, May 27, 2011.

The Law Enforcement, Emergency Service, Marine Corps and Patriot Guard response was a fitting tribute to recognize the life of Lieutenant Wood and it provided a sense of comfort to his family and our department during a difficult time.

Please thank all the members of your department especially the riders who participated in the motorcycle procession during the funeral for their respectful response in support of Lieutenant Wood. The tribute paid to Woody last Friday is something his family and our department will not be forgot
Sincerely,
Edward J. Nadriczny
Chief of Police

Subject: Thank you

To Bob and PGR friends,

It was great to have your presence at the funeral and cemetery on Monday for my brother-in-law, Kevin McKeon. A flag line is such a beautiful sight; a reminder of our great country and the people who serve to make it free. We really appreciate the dedicated members who gave their time to stand in the cold to be there for our loved one. It was especially dear to me to see familiar, friendly faces standing for Kevin that day.

Thank you so much,
Tracy McKeon
and the rest of Kevin’s family; wife Nancy,
daughter Jennifer and brother Eugene.

Subject: December 23rd Welcome Home Escort – Lt. Michael Fanell

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone! Just catching our breath after a whirlwind of a wonderful holiday. We dropped Michael off at the airport on Tuesday…he’s now in Germany. I think he’s still in shock but very grateful for the welcome home!

There is absolutely no way we can truly express the gratitude we feel for everything you have done for Michael and our returning soldiers. From the moment we received a call from George Ogilvie telling us of the Patriot Guard Riders and their interest in welcoming home Michael, (thanks George for making it happen) to discussing details with Bob Stone (thanks for your help and hope your feeling better)…meeting Mac McArthur and John Bitter at the airport (thanks for coming all that way and great job getting us back to CT)…Jim McElroy and Frank Bania, NY (who arranged our police escort to meet Michael at the gate and the Patriot Guard reception in the airport) and the unbelievable reception we received from the town of Greenwich.

You guys are incredible and we can’t thank you enough for your caring and tireless effort of “planning and doing” to welcome home our guys! Your an extraordinary special group of people, and it was a pleasure and honor to meet and talk with all of you. Please extend our thanks and appreciation to ALL those involved who also participated.

We will always be grateful and will cherish the memories forever!

God Bless,

Sharon & Jim Capparelle

Connecticut Computer Care Owner and Staff:

On behalf of all veterans I want to thank you for your message in Saturday’s edition of The Day.

As a retired member of the Armed Forces and a friend of SSG Edwin Rivera your tribute spoke volumes.

Thank you also to the members of the Patriot Riders who participate in the services for deceased members of all branches of the service.

We watched in awe their involvement in Ed’s services as well as the services for our son PV2 Joshua Rogers, who passed away last year.

What struck me was the true sense of your gratitude and patriotism by not using this as a business advertisement.

Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough but rest assure your efforts touched many hearts and souls.

God Bless You!
Nancy

Re: A Thank You to Mr. Edward Weil – US Navy WWII Veteran

Orginially posted by Connecticut Patriot Guard Gratitude Expressions on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2:03am

My name is Lisa and I want to thank the Patriot Guard for their support and participation for a recent request for my dad, a WWII vet.

My dad is losing his sight, and I had asked if anyone could write him a note or send a card to him thanking him for his service, as he served in the Navy on a destroyer in the Pacific, and his time in the service was among the most important things in his lifetime. I was hoping that a few people would respond, and he could have those letters to look back on and know that his service was appreciated, and he was not forgotten.

Well, the response was overwhelming! Bob “Airwolf” Stone picked up on this, and rallied the Patriot Guard into action. My dad received more than 600 notes, cards, letters, and photos, many from members of the Patriot Guard, as well as from other individuals and organizations.

You all are amazing, and while my dad had been fortunate enough to go on an American Warrior Honor Flight, and he was impressed and humbled as he wondered who those “guys with the flags and the motorcycles” were, we really had not heard the name “Patriot Guard” until the  recent letters started pouring in.

Through your efforts, and others, you changed my dad from an old guy losing his sight, into a proud and appreciated vet, whose wartime service was appreciated and acknowledged. I will never be able to thank you all enough, but I want you to know that you have made an enormous positive impact on him.

You have my deepest thanks and gratitude!  You are to be commended for all the incredible patriotic work that you do.   In fact, after seeing the impact that you have had not only on our family but also reading about the countless others that you have stood with, I have decided to become a member of this outstanding group of people.  I hope to live up to your highest standards.

Thank you again, on behalf on my father, and all the other vets and their families.

Sincerely,

Lisa
