James served as a Hospital Corpsman in a MASH unit attached to the First Cavalry Division of the United States Army in post-hostilities Korea.

We are Honored to have been invited by Honor Flight CT to participate in the escort, ceremony, and return for Veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam who are being taken to Washington DC to visit their respective monuments, many for their first time.

 

A flagged/PGR identified vehicle escort will start at Windsor Locks High School to bring the Veterans to the Airport for the pre-departure ceremony. Stage time is 0630 hrs.

 

RC Greg Young (860-227-7525) will be RCIC for the Escort stage.

 

Morning airport stage will include a Flag Line for the arriving Veterans as they prepare for departure. A pre-departure ceremony will be held at the SOUTHWEST AIRLINES baggage claim area lower level door #2. Stage time is 0645am

 

RC Rob Migliore (860-494-3758) will be RCIC for the airport stage with flags on site.

 

EVENING RETURN EVENT

 

Evening return airport stage will include a Flag Line for the return of the Veterans.  A flagged vehicle escort has been requested from the Airport to the high school if available. Evening stage is at 2200hrs at UPPER LEVEL.

 

RC Kevin Rancourt (860-819-4199) will be RCIC with flags on site.

Sadly, we are called to stand for George Miller, US Army, Vietnam.

George served his country as a Sergeant in the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 He was awarded The Purple Heart, The Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Vietnam Service Medal with Device and the Rifle Expert Badge.

We will stand a Flag Line at the cemetery for Military Honors.

Pamela served in the USAF for 20 years as a Technical Training Instructor, Aerospace Propulsion Jet Engines.

She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the USAF Good Conduct Medal, the USAF Outstanding Unit Award, the Air Force Longevity Service with 4 devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with 5 devices, and Air Force Commendation Medal with 1 device.

We will provide a Flag Line at the park as part of the celebration of life where Military Honors will be rendered.

Sadly, we have been requested to provide a Flag Line for Robert J Filippone, US Navy.

 

Robert proudly served in the US Navy from 1964-1968 aboard the U.S. Slater De 766 Hellenic Aetos 01.

Robert was an avid motorcyclist and was always on his Harley according to the family.

 

For bikes and flagged vehicles, we will provide an escort from this Hero’s house to the funeral home and provide a Flag Line for calling hours (1300-1400hrs).  Military Honors will be rendered at 1400hrs at the funeral home

Sadly, we have been requested to stand a Flag Line for Domnic Tierinni, US Army, Vietnam.

I have not received the DD 214 as of yet but was made aware by the family that he served in Vietnam and his service was from 1968-1971.  He received the National Defense Medal and the M 14 Sharpshooter badge.  I will update this Hero’s service record once received.

His three daughters are friends of mine.

We will stand a Flag Line for calling hours from 1030hrs to 1200hrs, provide an escort to State Vets Cemetery, and stand a Flag Line there.

We once again have been asked by the CT Department of Veteran Affairs to participate in the Veterans Funeral escort and ceremony for 4 unclaimed CT Veterans.

We will provide an escort from Rocky Hill to State Veterans Cemetery.  Stage is 0800hrs, hearses arrive at 0830hrs and members should be prepared for their arrival and follow the direction of Greg Young, the RCIC for escort (860-227-7525).  The KSU for the escort is 0940hrs

We will stand a Flag Line for the arrival of the escort and for the ceremony. Stage is 0930hrs. The expected arrival of the escort is 1020hrs. RC Linda-Daley Liversidge (203-915-8259) will be RCIC and Flags will be on site.
