**ATTEND ON YOUR OWN** ROBERT MURPHY “FINAL RIDE” LISBON CT SATURDAY 10/24/2020 12 NOON STAGING

Patriot Guard and Associates;

We have been invited to participate in a “Final Ride” to Honor Robert Murphy who has passed, falling to COVID 19 complications.
Robert Murphy, whose dedication to Norwich and area veterans was matched only by his devotion to his family and friends, died on Thursday at age 60 from COVID-19 complications.

Murphy was a Lisbon resident who previously served as president of the Norwich Area Veterans Council and currently as the president of the Norwich VFW Auxiliary, as well as commander of a local Three Rivers Young Marines unit and the master of ceremonies for several veterans’ events. He is being remembered fondly and with sadness by his colleagues and family.

“Our Dad was a Marine and Bob idolized him,” said Murphy’s bother, Gary. “But Bob had diabetes since he was a child and couldn’t serve. Instead he dedicated himself to veterans in other ways.”

Murphy said his brother was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 594 in Norwich for more than 20 years, joining after retiring as a Connecticut police officer at the former Norwich State Hospital..
Starting at noon line up in your vehicles on Regina Rd & Baron Dr in Lisbon; leaving room for emergency vehicles first, and then follow to Sullivan Rd for 1230.
God Bless America, Our Troops and Our First Responders.
