Significant Awards include Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal
We will Stand a Flag Line for the Arrival and Departure of Family and Guests.
Burial will be held at a later date in New York.

Hello All…..   The time is upon us again to Say the Names of our Fallen Veterans and place a Wreath at their Final Resting Place.  Honor, Remember and Teach..

Wreaths will be delivered directly to the State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow La in Middletown on Thursday and Friday 12/15 &12/16/2022.  The trucks are  scheduled to arrive around 10am. 2 truckloads will not be on pallets as in years past.
We are looking for assistance at the cemetery on Thursday morning at 10 am to assist in unloading the boxes.  These boxes will be distributed throughout the cemetery for placement on Saturday. Any assistance on Thursday and Friday would be appreciated.
On Saturday, The Middletown cemetery will be closed to vehicle traffic with parking on the CVH property across the street as well as the Eastern Drive Commuter lot with shuttle buses transporting to and from the cemetery starting at 9:30am. Signs will be posted to assist in parking.
The Ceremony will take place at 12 noon so please plan on arriving at the cemetery around 1030am.
We will Stand a Flag Line for the Ceremonies at both Middletown and Rocky Hill.
RC Jenn Hauser (203-627-7604) will be RCIC at CT State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Lane. Middletown.
RC Linda Liversidge-Daley (203-915-8259) will be RCIC at Col Raymond F. Gates Cemetery 392 West St in Rocky Hill.
Staging for both locations will be at 1030am
Any RC’s that have flags are requested to bring them to whichever event they attend.
Members are requested to choose whichever site they would want to attend.  More help will be needed at the Rocky Hill site.
Members are reminded that Personal Weapons are not permitted on State Property.

Sadly, we have been requested to escort and stand for U.S. Army William Hampton.

William served in the US Army from 1961 to 1964, and was stationed in Germany. He was an aircraft mechanic and sharpshooter.

We will provide an escort for the family who will be bringing our Hero to the funeral home and then stand a Flag Line at the funeral home for Military Honors

Sadly, we have been requested to stand for U.S. Army SPC Josue Alicea Tirado, CT Army National Guard.

 

Josue Alicea-Tirado, 19, was a Specialist in the C Co. 1-102nd Infantry. He was days away from his wedding day when he was killed in an early morning crash. .He was a graduate of Waterbury Career Academy and spent two years with the National Guard.

 

We will stand a Flag Line at the funeral home prior to the service, provide an escort to the cemetery and stand a Flag Line at the cemetery.

 

SC Gregg Barratt will be RCIC and Flags will be onsite
