ABOUT THE MISSION:

Patriot Guard Riders,

Once again, we are honored to be asked for a flag line at the RI Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, May 18th as brass players from across the state join together to honor all our fallen heroes.

We all have come to know Armed Forces Day as the annual Echo Taps Ceremony. Brass players perform an echoing cascade of Taps in recognition of the sacrifice our heroes have made for our country.

The Patriot Guard has been personally requested by A Gold Star Mother to attend and would appreciate our help at the following event supporting our Warriors experiencing PTSD.

PTSD WARRIORS COVE ISLAND RETREAT
SATURDAY OCTOBER 7, 2017
10:00 AM TO 3:00 PM

STAMFORD, CT 06902

 

We will set up an informational table at the event.

Staging will be at 0900 hrs.

ASC Jack Casey will be RCIC and will have 2 tables and 4 chairs with him. If anyone else is able to help out with providing a tent, it would be appreciated. If members are planning to attend, it is requested that you bring a chair(s) with you.

A large crowd is expected. Food and entertainment will be provided.

Patriot Guard Riders and Associates,

We have again been invited to participate in the 7th Annual Veterans BBQ at the Westbrook Elks Lodge 1784. This event honors all Veterans of all branches of service.
We will stand a Flag Line as the Veterans arrive at the lodge. There will be Veterans from CT Army National Guard, residents of Rocky Hill, Newington and West Haven Veterans facilities, Homeless Veterans Shelters, Elk Veterans, VFW and American Legion Posts. The Ceremony begins with the arrival of the Veterans from 1100 to 1200 hrs (11:00 am to 12:00 pm). We then join in for the BBQ Lunch.

ASC Jack Casey will be RCIC and Flags and water will be on site.

An Attend on Your Own Special Event, Bridgeport Bluefish salute the Military, Veterans and their families at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT., that is to take place from 1400 to 1900 hrs (2:00 to 7:00 pm). There will be a Military Career & Resource Fair on the Main Concourse, followed by a Meet & Greet with select Bluefish Players. At 1900 hrs (7:00 pm) there will be  the Bluefish Military Recognition Ceremony with Color Guard & National Anthem. First pitch of the game is at 1912 hrs (7:12 pm).

We are honored to be asked to set up an Information Table for the 2nd Annual CT Community Veterans Engagement Board (CVEB)/Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC) Veterans Stand Down. This event is an opportunity for open dialogue, feedback and recommendations on Veterans Issues here in Connecticut, as well as the ability to connect with resources and services available to Veterans in the state and at Quinebaug Valley Community College. There will be a number of free services available including hearing and eye screenings as well as a mini job fair. All Veterans, family members, caregivers, Veteran Service Organizations and members of the public are invited to attend this event.
CT PGR will have an information table to spread information about our purpose and how we may help Veterans and their families. Any one who can spend some time to assist is asked to help.

We have been asked to participate in a fund raiser for a Somers Fire Fighter who was severely injured by a falling tree 2 years ago. He has undergone 7 surgeries and requires a few more.
This fund raiser is to help with the expenses of his recovery.

We will stand a Flag Line at the opening ceremony, and assist Mike Freedman as needed.

Senior Ride Captain Gregg Barratt will be RCIC and Flags will be on site.

***EXTREMELY SHORT NOTICE*** We have been asked to stand a Flag Line to Welcome Home the participants of this years Snowball Express, a special trip for children of fallen Military Heroes. They have spent the last four days in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where they met and bonded with over 1700 other families who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We will stand a Flag Line to show our respect for their loss and to Welcome them home from this awesome trip.

State Captain Mac McArthur will be RCIC and Flags will be on site.

We will proceed to the airport Departure ramp at about 1630 hrs (4:30 pm), and park Flag car at the end of the of the drive near door #6. We are limited to one vehicle, Jacks Flag car, and 2 motorcycles if anyone rides. Cages will park in the garage. Be aware of the weather as below zero temperatures are forecast. We will try to get parking passes stamped.

Due to the Wreath Laying taking place at the CT Veterans Cemetery at the same time, I am making this an Attend On Your Own mission. I request any PGR who are not taking part in the Wreath Laying, to attend this Key Presentation in honor of Spc Pesce. Please bring your own Flags.

Good Morning Patriot Guard and Associates;

We are honored to again be participating in the Laying of the Wreaths at the CT State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Ln Middletown, CT on Saturday Dec 17, 2016 at 12 noon.
This event coincides with the National and International Wreath Laying ceremonies.
Immediately following the Wreath laying ceremony, The CT PGR will lay Wreaths on the graves of the Unclaimed Veterans that we have been honored to participate in the escort and burial of.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

Staging will be at 11am at the cemetery.
Members are cautioned to be attentive to the weather conditions and are reminded to dress warmly as the forecast is for cold temperatures and the possibility of inclement weather. Parking for this event as always is tight so please plan accordingly.

ASC Skip Petras will be RCIC and flags will be on site.
